The manual is based on LibreCAD v2.2.0-rc1 with a few additions. If you are using another version of LibreCAD, your mileage may vary.

Cartoon Tools¶

The drawing tools are used to create and modify entities such as lines, circles, etc. in a drawing. Commands can be selected from the menu, toolbars or entered via the control line. Correct-click anywhere in the drawing window to display a popup menu showing the history of commands launched from the menus or the toolbars with the latest command existence on pinnacle of the list. Note that the command line input is non shown.

Several drawing tools crave additional parameters and will provide prompts on the Tool Options toolbar. This toolbar should always be enabled. If the tool options practice not announced, from the carte select Widgets -> Toolbar -> and enable Tool Options. If using the command line, the same tool options are bachelor via the toolbar or the command line. The tools that have options are shown in the table below.

Line¶

Vertical		ver, vertical	Draw a vertical line from an assigned point defining the start, heart or finish of the line and with an assigned length. Tool Options:
Rectangle		rec, rect, rectangle	Draw a rectangle past assigning the points of ii diagonally opposite corners.
Parallel through signal		pp, ptp	Depict a given number of lines parallel to a selected existing line through an assigned signal. Tool Options:
Parallel		o, pa, offset, parallel	Depict a given number of lines parallel to a selected existing line with a given distance between lines. Tool Options:
Bisector		bi, bisect	Draw a given number of lines bisecting two existing non-parallel lines (e.g. at an angle to each other with or without a common point). Tool Options:
Tangent (P,C)		tanpc, tangentpc	Draw a line from an assigned point tangent to an existing circle.
Tangent (C,C)			Draw a line tangent to ii existing circles.
Tangent Orthogonal			Depict a line tangent to an existing circle and perpendicular to an existing line.
Orthogonal		ortho, perp	Describe a line of a given length perpendicular to an existing line placing the heart at an assigned point. Tool Options:
Relative Angle			Draw a line with a given length and at a given angle relative to an existing line placing the center of the line at an assigned bespeak. Tool Options:
Polygon (Cen,Cor)		pl, polyline	Describe a polygon with a given number of sides assigning the centre bespeak and point of i vertex. Tool Options:
Polygon (Cen,Tan)			Describe a polygon with a given number of sides assigning the centre point and bespeak of the centre of one side. Tool Options:
Polygon (Cor,Cor)		poly2, polygon2v	Draw a polygon with a given number of sides assigning the two points of i side. Tool Options:

Circle¶

2 Points		c2, circle2	Describe a circle with a given bore by assigning ii opposite points on the circumference.
2 Points, Radius			Draw a circle with two points on the circumference and with an assigned radius. Tool Options:
iii Points		c3, circle3	Draw a circumvolve assigning 3 points on the circumference.
Centre, Radius			Draw a circle with a given radius centred at an assigned point on the circumference. Tool Options:
Tangential, two Circles, ane Betoken			Draw a circle tangential to ii existing circles and assigning a centre point to found the radius.
Tangential, ii Points			Depict a circle tangential to an existing circle and define the diameter and placement by assigning 2 points on the circumference.
Tangential, 2 Circles, Radius			Draw a circle tangential to two existing circles with a given radius. Tool Options:
Tangential, 3 Circles		ct3, tan3	Draw a circle tangential to 3 existing circles and/or lines.

Curve¶

Center, Point, Angles			Describe a curve (arc) with a given radius divers by a eye betoken and a point on the circumference, the management of rotation (clockwise or counter-clockwise), a point defining the start position of the arc and a indicate defining the end position of the arc. Tool Options:
3 Points		a, ar, arc	Draw a curve (arc) by assigning three points on the circumference of the arc defining the start position, a point on the circumference and cease position of the arc.
Arc Tangential			Draw a curve (arc) tangential to the end of an existing line segment with a defined radius or angle (deg). Tool Options: or
Spline		spl, spline	Draw an open up or closed spline (bend) by assigning control points and a given degree of freedom (i - three). Tool Options:
Spline through points		stp, spline2	Draw an open or airtight spline (bend) past defining points on the spline. Tool Options:
Ellipse Arc (Axis)			Due north/A
Freehand Line		fhl, free	Depict a not-geometric line.

Ellipse¶

Ellipse (Axis)			Draw an ellipse by assigning a centre point, a bespeak on the circumference of major access and a point on the circumference the minor admission.
Ellipse Foci Bespeak			Depict an ellipse by assigning two foci points and a point on the circumference.
Ellipse 4 Point			Draw an ellipse assigning iv points on the circumference.
Ellipse Middle and 3 Points			Draw an ellipse by assigning a middle point three points on the circumference.
Ellipse Inscribed		ei, ie	Draw a Ellipse constrained by four existing not-parallel line segments.

Polyline¶

Polyline		pl, polyline	Draw an open or closed continuous line consisting of ane or more straight line or arc segments defined by endpoints and / or radius or angle for arcs. Tool Options: Options include Line and for curved segments; Tangential, Tan Radius and Angle.
Add node			Add node to existing polyline. (Apply "Snap on Entity" to identify new node on segment.)
Append node			Add together i or more segments to an existing polyline by selecting polyline and calculation new node endpoint.
Delete node			Delete selected node of an existing polyline.
Delete between ii nodes			Delete 1 or more nodes betwixt selected nodes of an existing polyline.
Trim segments			Extend two separate non-parallel segments of an existing polyline to intersect at a new node.
Create Equidistant Polylines			Depict a given number of polylines parallel to a selected existing polyline with a given altitude between lines. Tool Options:
Create Polyline from Existing Segments			Create polyline from two or more existing split line or arc segments forming a continuous line.

Select¶

Deselect all		tn	Deselect all entities on visible layers ([Ctrl]-[K] or default [Esc] activity).
Select All		sa	Select all entities on visible layers ([Ctrl]-[A]).
Select Entity			Select, or deselect, one or more than entities (default cursor action).
(De-)Select Contour			Select or deselected entities connected by shared points.
Select Window			Select one or more than entities enclosed by selection window (L to R), or crossed past selection window (R to Fifty) (default cursor "elevate" action).
Deselect Window			Deselect one or more entities enclosed by selection window (L to R), or crossed by selection window (R to L).
Select Intersected Entities			Select 1 or more than entities crossed by selection line.
Deselect Intersected Entities			Deselect one or more entities crossed past selection line.
(De-)Select Layer			Select or deselected all entities on the layer of the selected entity.
Capsize Selection			Select all united nations-selected entities volition deselecting all selected entities.

Dimension¶

Leader		ld	Depict a text leader by by selecting offset (arrow location), intermediate and end points.

Modify¶

Tool	Icon	Command	Description
Gild			Guild entities within a layer. Selected entities can be moved to height, lesser, raised (moved forward) over another entity or lowered (moved backwards) behind an entity.
Move / Copy		mv	Move a selected entity past defining a reference point and a relative target betoken. Optionally keep the original entity (Copy), create multiple copies and / or alter attributes and layer.
Rotate		ro	Rotate a selected entity around a rotation betoken, moving the entity from a reference point to a target point. Optionally keep the original entity, create multiple copies and / or change attributes and layer.
Scale		sz	Increase or decrease the size of a selected entity from a reference point by a defined factor for both axis. Optionally go on the original entity, create multiple copies and / or alter attributes and layer.
Mirror		mi	create a mirror epitome of a selected entity around an axis defined past 2 points. Optionally keep the original entity and / or change attributes and layer.
Move and Rotate			Movement a selected entity past defining a reference betoken and a relative target point and rotating the entity at a given bending. Optionally go on the original entity, create multiple copies and / or alter attributes and layer.
Rotate Two			Rotate a selected entity around an absolute rotation signal, while rotating the entity around a relative reference point to a target point. Optionally keep the original entity, create multiple copies and / or change attributes and layer.
Revert management		revert	Swap start and cease points of ane or more selected entities.
Trim		tm, trim	Cut the length of a line entity to an intersecting line entity.
Trim Ii		t2, tm2	Cut the lengths of 2 intersecting lines to the betoken of intersection.
Lengthen		le	Extend the length of a line entity to an intersecting line entity. Tool Options:
Outset		o, pa, offset, parallel	Re-create a selected entity to a divers distance in the specified direction.
Bevel		ch, bevel	Create a sloping edge betwixt two intersecting line segments with defined by a setback on each segment. Tool Options:
Fillet		fi, fillet	Create a rounded edge between two intersecting line segments with divers radius. Tool Options:
Dissever		di, div, cut	Divide, or break, a line at the selected ''cutting'' point.
Stretch		ss	Motion a selected portion of a cartoon by defining a reference point and a relative target point.
Properties		mp, prop	Modify the attributes of a unmarried entity including layer, pen color / width / line blazon and the entity'southward geometry (varies past blazon of entity).
Attributes		ma, attr	Modify the common attributes of one or more selected entities including layer, pen color / width / line type.
Explode Text into Letters			Separate a string of text into individual graphic symbol entities.
Explode		xp	Divide one or more than selected blocks or compound entities into individual entities.
Delete selected		[Del], er	Delete 1 or more selected entities.

Info¶

Distance Point to Bespeak		dpp, dist	Provides altitude, cartesian and polar coordinates betwixt two specified points.
Distance Entity to Indicate			Provides shortest distance selected entity and specified bespeak.
Angle between 2 lines		ang, angle	Provides angle between two selected line segments, measured counter-clockwise.
Full length of selected entities			Provides full length of one or more selected entities (length of line segment, circle circumference, etc.).
Polygonal Surface area		ar, expanse	Provides area and circumference of polygon defined by iii or more specified points.

Hatch		ha, hatch	Fill a closed entity (polygon, circumvolve, polyline, etc) with a defined design or a solid fill. Optionally define scale and bending.
Points		po, indicate	Draw a signal at the assigned coordinates.
